Special Olympics games

THE Deloraine Community Complex will come alive to the action of the Special Olympics State Basketball games tomorrow. Teams representing the Southern, Northern and North-West regions will take part at the annual event from 9am with events in senior, challenge and skills competitions. An opening ceremony, staged by The Examiner’s Danny Gibson, will take place at 10am and an awards ceremony at 4.15pm. State manager Tamara Stokes said: “Basketball is one of our most popular sports in Tasmania and over 50 athletes will be competing this weekend.”
